Our second annual golf tourney and social was a success! We had a great group of people, beautiful weather and heaps of laughter and fun. The Chamber was able to get nominations and then vote for our annual awards. We had many deserving individuals nominated. It was fun to read all the fantastic comments and accolades given to people in our community.
The recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement award was Charles (Chuck) Blum. When asked, a fellow business person said this about Chuck, “He is one of the most motivational promoters of our community.” For the last forty years he has been a vital part of the Corn Capital, following in the footsteps of his father. He continues to lead by example in many volunteer positions in our community.
The Community Leadership award was given to Bruce Bremseth. If you know Bruce, you know he’s a go-getter and he’d do anything to help you out! The past 26 years he has been giving to our community. During Corn Capital Days, he stepped up and organized our Corn Capital Grand Parade!
The Business of the Year for 2022 was Olivia Family Dental. Dr. Mark and Sandy Moorse’s contribution to our community has been second to none. For the past 26 years they have been committed to being a “partner in a healthy smile,” as well as serving our community and surrounding area!
It was such an honor to share the floor with these people and give them their awards. I am constantly reminded of what a fantastic community we live in. The Chamber golf event was supported by dozens of business donations, from hole sponsorships to gifts given for prizes and games. It takes a tribe to make things happen and I am so happy to link arms with the business community to do that! Thank you.
Please mark your calendars for the Holiday Happenings 2022. It will be here before we know it! We moved the date back a week, so we aren’t competing with neighboring towns. This year’s date is Thursday, December 8th! We are looking to improve the parade as well as have live music/entertainment for the kids. As always, we will have Santa and Mrs. Claus here for photo opportunities!
