August Chamber Spotlight: Olivia Floral, Gift and Garden Center

When you walk into the Olivia Floral, Gift and Garden Center you are greeted by the smell of flowers and plants and also with a smile from Nicole Johnson. She writes this about her business!


“We purchased Olivia Floral in June 2021 – I grew up in Olivia and graduated from BOLD in 2007. My husband, myself and our two daughters bought a small farm north of Danube in 2019 and ever since have had pigs, cattle, chickens, goats; and of course a garden! I went to Oregon State University for Ag Science; and have always had a love for nutrition, so gardening and then canning and preserving food has become a passion of mine! As many know, the business itself has existed for over 30 years in Olivia, so stepping into a fully operating opportunity was great, but also somewhat overwhelming. I’m thankful that I have a really great team: One part time employee; Linda and two delivery drivers; Cindy & Lynn. My husband does a lot of behind-the-scenes work and I also have more than a handful of people that are “on call” to help with designing pots and arrangements, cleaning, and filling in where needed! I really love supporting local businesses, so I have a variety of vendors throughout the store, in addition to our floral and garden products.

Overall, we have really great customers – they are very supportive and encouraging. They like to participate in our classes, as well as stop in to check out any new inventory. We have, unfortunately, made some mistakes, especially when we’re in over our head, but we always try to make it right and serve the best way we can. We have a strong faith that this business will continue to grow and prosper!

The majority of our fall plants are IN – we will be hosting a potting event or two right at the flower shop! We will also offer holiday events later in the year (I know, we need to get through the beginning of the school year first, but just getting the word out!) The best way to keep up to date is to follow us on Facebook, where we promote our work and any events we have going on!”


I get the privilege of helping out in the flower shop once in a while. It’s such a good vibe being surrounded by the flowers and good people and then getting to share some love with the customers!

Beginning September 6th the hours will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

Also, there will be a fall potting event Monday Sept 12th 4pm-7pm and again on Saturday Sept 24th from 10am-1pm. Come and join the fun and create your own fall arrangement!
